If your pet is unwell

I can't diagnose or treat animals by email, in comments or through this site. Please take your pet to a veterinarian who can examine it. In an emergency — poisoning, heatstroke, a road accident, difficulty breathing, collapse — go to the nearest veterinary hospital straight away. In Kerala, government veterinary hospitals are run by the Animal Husbandry Department in every district.

If a person has been bitten or scratched by an animal, wash the wound with soap and water for 15 minutes and see a doctor the same day.
